I loved creating Art's voice (so different to Coll's) and describing Coll through his eyes. Some of his harsh behaviour in the first three books is explained.
But when I sent the first 7000 words to my publishers they hated it: they said Art was too dark, too much of a threat to Coll. They wouldn't give me a contract to finish it. Later I posted those 7000 words on my website and I got lots of lovely emails telling me to finish it. So I did.

A great conclusion

This book is very different from the original three books in the trilogy by Kate Cann. Also unlike the other three books which are told from Coll's perspective, this book is from the perspective of Art. I liked reading this book a lot, I feel like it answered many questions I had about Art that were not previously mentioned. The book elaborates on what happens to Art and Coll after the end of the third book, but it also explains what Art was thinking from the beginning, and what happened when he was in New Zealand. I think that this book Art's Story is a great wrap up for the series, and an excellent chance to get inside the mind of character that always seemed slightly hard to understand and vexing at times. For lovers of the original three books by Kate Cann, I highly recommend reading this one. While different, it places a new perspective on a series and characters that we are rather familiar with already.

I loved this one. Even if it was written in a kinda diary-way it was splendid!
I think this is a must to read. Art is my favorite in the other books, he's so dark end twisted, and here you get som guyish explanation.
Brilliant!!!!

Ugh. I loved it. Art's point of view is quite choppy, but the way the need is conveyed between Art and Coll is fantastic, quite realistic of two people in love. Disappointed that I still wish there was more, though :( Now I must find something else to read.

Went from knowing nothing about my CTS to being a CTS-God

Amazing guide. It will guide you step by step on how to change just about everything. It has everything you need to know from changing oil, to checking the automatic fluid, to changing a battery, to checking the brakes. An absolute must if you don't know anything about mechanics; like myself.

I was able to change the oil using this guide. Yes, I know... changing the oil is as simple as sleeping but I had no idea what to do and his guide provided all the information I needed; saved me a good $75 (yes I did pay that much when I took it to a local shop, and I don't think they used the right oil). With this guide I only spent $35 on the oil and the oil filter and I made dang sure I was using the proper oil and oil filter, not some cheap or recycled crap.

Yes you will have to buy tools, but those tools will become an investment and you won't have to pay hundreds of dollars just to get a simple thing fixed.

This guide is for the self-starters and self-reliant, this guide will teach you just about everything you need to know your CTS. I love my CTS and with this guide I can make sure I give my precious CTS some TLC.

If you are a veteran mechanic then you probably won't learn much, but if you have little to no knowledge about your CTS or cars then there's a plethora of useful information you can use.

I am so thrilled that Charlotte Libov has written this much-needed clear, concise "how to" manual for cancer survivors and their families. As a Mental Health professional, I know that the first reactions people have when they hear the word 'cancer' are panic and fear. In addition to the obvious life and death concerns, two of the big reasons for this are that the amount of information out there can be very overwhelming...and the available information is often contradictory and confusing. Libov's "Cancer Survival Guide" is an antidote to this confusion, presenting each topic area in a very well-organized and user-friendly fashion, and artfully straddling the line between being simple enough for the average person to easily digest while also providing enough depth of information to be truly useful. Libov manages to do all of the above, and in a no-nonsense, practical and hopeful way. Both professionally and personally, I see this as a crucial piece of the puzzle that has long been missing for many, and is now available. For this, I say "Thank You" Charlotte Libov!

CANCER SURVIVAL GUIDE is a must read for anyone with an interest in the fight against cancer

I've had the good fortune to work with writer Charlotte Libov for years now and was very pleased at the opportunity to play a role, however small, in making CANCER SURVIVAL GUIDE a reality given the participation of several experts that I represent as the media relations representative for Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. For the past 20 years, I've worked at Mercy, trying to bring important information about medical breakthroughs in diagnosis and treatment of all manner of illness; a wonderful, easy to ready, easy to use guide like Ms. Libov's is now another tool we have to help educate people about how they, when it comes to cancer, can "conquer it and live a good life," as the cover notes! The book is comprehensive, examining 13 of the most common cancers, with everything from details about the latest breakthroughs to information about new genetic tests and how to "find the best treatments and doctors." Truly a great guide.

As a breast cancer survivor, I found this book informative, user friendly, and thorough. Everything is broken down into specific categories with countless helpful ideas for those suffering and for those whose loved ones are suffering. Part of the title, "How to Conquer it (cancer) and Live a Good Life" is spot on. In short, the old adage, "knowledge is power," says it all. Clearly, the author (Charlotte Libov) did her homework and imparts her knowledge in a concise, practical text, while encouraging readers to take control of their treatment. This is an important book. Thank you!

Actuarial Mathematics

Students of the actuarial profession has no choice in acquiring this book as it's contents are part of the SOA syllabus. The coverage is broad and most essential topics in actuarial modelling are covered. Yet, in many instances it lacks imagination: it can become too obsessed with formulas and number crunching rather than concentrate on conveying the intuition behind the formulas. Another problem with dealing solely with the mathematical models behind insurance is that one could read the entire book and still not have a clue behind some of the most relevant real world insurance problems (e.g. adverse selection, moral hazard, etc). One would very likely have to read other materials to cover the economics behind insurance.

A comprehensive mathematical treatment of life contingencies

The criticisms of this classic text basically stem from a single misconception, which is that it is intended to be a primary source for a self-study course in life contingencies for the CAS/SOA Exam 3L/MLC. There exist study manuals that are better suited for the purpose of passing the exam. The true purpose of this text is to supply a comprehensive and rigorous mathematical treatment of life contingencies, including topics that are not tested on the exam.

Can you use it to study for the exam? Absolutely. Is it especially time-efficient to do so? For most candidates, probably not. But if you do use it, and you have the mathematical background and computational skill to work through the exercises (which sometimes greatly exceed the difficulty of any question you would be expected to encounter on the exam), then you are virtually guaranteed to not only pass, but to do extremely well. This is precisely because the authors approach the subject from its mathematical foundations, and do not waste effort trying to dumb it down nor give results without proof. If you have a firm grasp of probability theory, interest theory, and calculus, you will appreciate this book for its depth and rigor, and will admire the subject for its mathematical beauty and applicability. If you are just looking to pass the exam, then you will fail to appreciate what this text offers.
